First Block #8 Finally Finished!!!!!!

Woohoo! Well I changed my original background color(black) to cream. The block design  measures 5x7, yep that's right. This woman needs an psychiatry appointment! I absolutely love it! And have already picked out a wall for display when the quilt is finished. The strawberry tops were a bit hairy, but they stitched up prettily.
So many decisions, which block to start next....maybe a bride or groom? Thanks so much for everyone's encouragement and such lovely blocks for inspiration.

Cheers,
Bobbie

  2. Do you mean you are making the blocks about 1/2 size? You are very brave:} and you are doing a great job - the applique looks wonderful. I can't imagine doing it so small. I love the fruit block.

  3. Wow! 5x7!! That is something. Good for you. Now, do you think you will be able to applique the tiny, tiny birds feet?

  5. Oh my God!!! That is SMALL, but it is a very fresh idea!! I love it! If some things get too tiny, like feet and GRAPES (just how tiny is the smallest grape?!?), you could just embroider them.

You're doing a great job...I can't even tell from your picture that it is half size, except that your pattern sheet is twice as big.

Wow, I am really looking forward to following your journey. And to think I was bitching at how crowded some of the blocks were at 11 x 14!!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  12. Hello All,

Thanks so much for the sharing and your encouragement. Yes! Those puppies are micro stems, 1/8th of an inch thick. I teach a special technique in my applique classes. They are really not that hard. Just a little practice, as with everything, goes a long way.
I just love this group, you all inspire me! Thanks again.

    Cheers,
    Bobbie

  13. What a great idea! I love miniature quilts!! If I was going to make a mini I would cheat and use raw-edge machine applique.

Well done, and congratulations. You can still make some of the blocks for another quilt/wallhanging with the black background if you like. :)
