It's Official! ......

I've always admired the original "Bird of Paradise" quilt top and now to find a pattern AND blog for this "Civil War Bride" is just.....how cool is that!
I'm happy to join such a wonderful group of quilters!
Here is my first block. I'm mainly using Daiwabo Taupe, Civil War, William Morris and Liberty fabrics.
Onto the second block!

  5. Mona...loved the pieced background!! that is my favorite way to make an applique quilt. Piece of Cake started me on that trend!! and your start of your blocks is gorgeous! The pieced backgrounds always add that spark!
    I am new as well and just got my pattern this week

    Love that Pot fabric and your apples. I love the way wach of our blocks has a different flavour. Adds to the fun and sharing :-) I too am a piece of cake fan. I love your scrappy background too.
