Block 2 is finally finished :-)

I have finished the Civil War Bride Quilt Block 2 and am making good progress on block 5. Slowly but surely I am getting there :-) Must say that I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Not only am I learning new techniques and discovering which needle works best for me I am also finding that hand applique is relaxing. Love all the different colours too. Think I will make the peacock block next.  I can start thinking of fabrics and planning :-)

Cheers Lynne

  1. oh I have been missing all the wonderful blocks!! all the beautiful birds..and the flowers...and more birds and more gorgeous flowers!! wonderful fabric choices and workmanship!!

  2. Great block Lynne. I love your flower fabric, it has such the right amount of red and pink in it. The leaves fabric also wonderful. I'm glad you enjoyed the appliqué process too - Hugs Natima

  3. Just beautiful, Lynne,

Your block is so vibrant...the fabric choices make the flowers, vines and leaves look like they are growing and real!

I like the way you fussy cut the flower fabric for the buds...using the lighter part of the fabric...they look so natural!

    Your techinique is wonderful!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  4. This block is one of my favorites you've done.
It just sparkles with dimension! Great block!

  5. Just beautiful Lynne..

  6. Your fabrics are stunning. I love your block. The fabrics you used on the flowers are inspiring.

Not all the blocks are this intense.... don't worry! You will finish some more blocks quite quickly.

  7. Boy I am glad that some of the blocks are not as intense. Did not think that I would ever finish :-) I have washed and ironed my block too just not trimmed to size

  8. Your block looks great! I like the fabric you used in the flowers and the variety in your leaves. I can't wait to see your block 5, I'm still working on finishing mine.

  9. That is one beautiful block Lynne! Perfect fabric and I love the flowers. I look forward to seeing your peacock.
