Block 2 - this is slow going

I have finally completed block 2- it is taking much longer to do a block than I expected. I think I need to better organize myself and speed things up. I enjoy seeing everyone's blocks- love the blocks with pieced backgrounds. I have jumped to block #14 with the little peacock and am looking for some good peacock fabric - am considering doing a rooster instead of the peacock but not sure it will fit. What a lot of leaves in this quilt!

  1. Absolutely love the fabric you used for the vines! Great block! Keep at it!

  2. I love it too! So bright and happy!

  3. Great colours Debra, I love your variety of greens. There are a HUGE amount of leaves in the quilt, I could be 'leafed' out when I've finished this quilt. LOL!

  4. Just absolutely adore the red flowers. Your blocks are working up so very nice.

  5. Beautiful selection of fabrics for this block!

  6. Your block looks so cheerful with the red and yellow flowers! I love your fabric selections, especially the stems! I also noticed that you replaced one of the buds with another flower. (I may need to steal that idea from you. ;-)

  7. Oh my goodness!! This block is stunning. Just stunning. I love it.

You can do this, one stitch at a time. I am having a break from my applique then I will jump in with rigour again...

  8. Wow Debra!

This is a really beautiful block! It took me a long time to do this block as well, but it is so worth it! It is stunning and the colors and fabrics are so pretty together. Well done!

This is a long term project...delayed gratification. I am thinking of it one block at a time, while I allow a little room to fantasize and plan the whole top. We will all get there eventually! It's a good thing we are all starting and working at different times and will make this blog a work of art and an inspiration for a long period of time!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  9. Lovely this block, it's so colorful - Great block - Hugs Natima

  10. i love this so very very much. The more blocks i see, the more my heart sings. One day I will be making them. Just have to get out of debt with my hubby first! Maybe this time next year
