Ostrich fever...

The two male ostriches are done!!  Since the male ostrich is more colorful than the female, I decided to do two of them.  I'm still experimenting with eyes on all my people and critters...

I did this block pretty much without alteration except for the feet...I did change those.

Thanks to Walt Disney, when I see an ostrich I think of either feather dusters or French "can-can" dancers, holding up their many-layered skirts, or both!   Ooo-la-la!!  LOL

In stitches,
Teresa   :o)

  1. Pretty cool ostriches Teresa, I just love that they are pink and the grey/black is gorgeous.

  2. your ostrich block is fabulous, like it very much, susi

  3. Love those ostriches. Great Selection of fabrics for the head, feet and plumes

  4. Excellent ostrich! So pretty in pink!

  5. I just found your blog and I'm so happy I did. I'm going to have to spend some time reading through all your posts. I just ordered a pattern from Threadbear and I'm just dying to get my hands on it. I'm not an appliquer at all, but there definitely is a time to start. Now, though, seeing your CWB quilt, I think I have to order this pattern too.

  6. Teresa, the ostriches are handsome. I love the pink and black together. Such a perfect block. Good job - Hugs Natima

  7. Teresa, they turned out great! I love the patterned fabric for their legs and heads, and the pink is a great choice. Beautiful work!

  8. Hi Teresa, I am a fellow Michigan appliquer from Flint. I have the CWBQ pattern and am starting it after the holidays. Actually, I want to start immediately, but must find the perfect background and nothing has jumped out at me yet. I have loved your choices of fabrics. The pink and black are great. I'm always looking forward to the next CWBQ post. Sue
