Block #6 is finished

Another leafy block is finished. If I counted right, there are 46 leaves in this block. It actually felt like it went faster than the last leafy block I made.........and the last one had a few less leaves. I think I may be getting into a groove here.   :-)

  1. Your applique is exquisite! How many days did you take to do this? Looks beautiful!

  2. Love your different colours in the flowers, great block Linda...

  3. very,very pretty ,linda,keep on stitching,susi

  4. What a lovely block, Linda. I love the balance of colours. Very nice!

  5. Looks great Linda...I counted every leaf in each block as I went as well. Funny, I never tallied them at the end like I thought I would...

Your technique and fabric choices are great! I thought the two leafy ones were the most boring for me to sew; now that you've done them, I can't wait to see what you do next!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  6. Hi Linda,

I agree with the others. This is really exquisite and I love the balance of light and dark leaves. Very pretty indeed! And - yes, I also love the fact that we are almost at the same stage of our work, although I think you have overtaken me and will now finish your next 16 blocks in no time! Right now I find too little time to work on mine. a few stitches here and there - that's it... BUt, once the semester is over, I'll find some more time again and then watch me go.... ;o)

    Greetings from the Rhine,

  7. Another beautiful block from you Linda, you do such nice work. I love the fine little embroidery embellishments around the buds. You are on a definite roll.
    Happy Stitching,

  8. Linda,

Love the inked details around the rosebuds and the button centers. Nothing like a bit of texture using embroidery and embellishments to give our blocks a little zing. Your colors for the leaves are really wonderful, just enough lights to really make it sparkle.
Yes, it was a lot of leaves, but so worth it, don't you think? Your quilt is going to be spectacular.

  9. I love the details!!

  10. Thank you for your encouragement everyone. I'm sure having fun working on these blocks. They're addictive.

Thanks to everyone that is following our journey with the Civil War Bride Quilt. We love to read your comments and appreciate your encouragement...............
