Block 14 My Peahen

My peahen is my 9th block completed. This was a difficult block for me, the bird and flowers were fine but I really struggled with the leaves. I had to baste them on a couple times, I just could not get them to connect to the stems and therefore stretched to connect to the stem and made some puckers. So I think I will move on to an animal block and take a break from leaves for a while. I am still enjoying the quilt as a whole and being part of this wonderful group.
Happy Stitching All...

  2. Cheri,

you've got to be kidding... It looks absolutely perfect! I don't see any stretching or puckers. The fabrics, especially on the hen are beautiful! Did you embroider the "eyes" on the tail?

    Great block!

  4. Oh thanks Britta, it has been ironed into submission - there are some pretty "wonky" leaf points. I looked for fabric with cirles on it and then fussy cut them for the eyes on the tail.

  5. It's lovely Cheri, we are all really too hard on ourselves! I can't see anything wrong with your leaves at all...
