new block finished

I just finished embroidering the cherry stems to my altered block # 13. I substituted one apple for my cat PeeWee and added my other cat Bootsy underneath the table. I might add a stitched little mouse to keep Bootsy under the table busy...

Greetings from the Rhine,

  1. Britta that's a lovely block, I really like your cats in there...

  2. Really nice, Britta! I love how you inserted your kitty cats...I substituted our "Weasley" into one of my blocks as well. What would our lives (or our quilting rooms!) be like without our 4-legged friends? I like how one is on the table and one goofing around underneath. Your fabrics are so pretty...I especially like the one used for the tablecloth.

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  3. OH I love the kitties! Cute, Cute, Cute!

  4. Its lovely and a mouse will be the finishing touch. Somewhere, I saw, and kept,[and have since lost] an article from a magazine about an appliqued quilt made using the design of your tablecloth fabric, from memory it was done in rich autumny colours and was beautiful.

  5. Britta, love your block! I also love that you are making your own. Would not the maker of the original "Bride" just be tickled that we are all enjoying her creation and adding our own touches? Can't go wrong with a kitty or two. What would our quilts be without all of those nice kitty inclusions that they love to leave on our fabric.
    Great job!

  6. I'm ready to start this amazing reproduction. Does anyone have a foolproof technique for needle turned applique?

  7. Jody, you might want to ask in a new own post, because I don't think many read the comments (or rather, as one has to open them separately, they might not open and read your question; or if they have answered, may not go back to read further comments)...

Thanks to everyone that is following our journey with the Civil War Bride Quilt. We love to read your comments and appreciate your encouragement...............
