Does anyone have a pattern for the horses shown in the original quilt top border. I would like to use these and other animals in my border like the original.

  1. I think you would have to draft your own unless someone has made them. I like the original horses too.

  2. I love the horses racing around the original border. They have so much energy and excitement. I haven't gotten to the borders yet but I am definately wanting to include them in some way. I don't know if anyone has drawn them up yet.

  3. Ladies, the origial horses, and other items, are available in a pattern from Patricia Cox at her website, Look under her Reproduction Quilts in the side bar, and scroll down to Folk Art NYC. Hope this helps. Michele

  4. I have Pats pattern as well as the CWB pattern I loved the horses too and knew I would want to add them to my quilt as well.
one of these days I will get back to this quilt.
After seeing the original in NYC last month I have been thinking about it alot again
maybe 2011 will be the year!

  5. Hi Fran, I have made enlarged photo copies of the horses and dogs. They will fit on a 7"-9" border. If you live in the United States I would be happy to mail them to you. I also want mine close to the original. I haven't worked on mine in a long time, I did post for the first time in November as to what I have gotten done so far. Let me know here at the postings.

  6. Julee,

I would also be interested in the enlarged copies of the horses and dogs that you made, if possible. (I live in Oklahoma.) I just love the children riding on the dogs and the racing horses and was planning on including them in my border when I got to that part. Since I am doing the CT BOM, I have to wait until they send things to me so I haven't started the arduous task of drafting anything out. I was even toying with the idea of including the block with lemons and oranges like the original quilt had ... but which block to leave out then.

  7. Thanks Julee. I love the animals on the border and the movement of the horses. I would love to have your pattern. You can email me at
