PUT YOUR SUNGLASSES ON!!!

good morning brides, I am very happy to inform you my first 10 blocks are finished. I know they are all a bit loud and fighting for attention. I am loving making this quilt. Searching for the right fabrics, mixing the colours together and making the blocks are my favourite things in quilting. As to the quilting itself it is not really my favourite. But there seems to be very little quilting to do when it is finished. The blocks are so fully packed there is hardly any background fabric left. (At least in mine). I am looking forward to your comments and more blog updates from the other brides.

  2. Love it Ineke! When I am finished with my bride I am moving on to a Kim McLean quilt using Kaffe Fassetts, I have just got to have one of these bright cheerful quilts.

  4. Wow! Outstanding. Some of your leaves look 3D. Is it just the fabric or did you use a different technique? I am viewing on my iPhone at work so it may be the smaller screen. Congratulations!

  5. TexasJane, my leaves are not 3D it is just the fuzzy cutting I think. The brides skirt is 3D. Looks like we both finished the blocks at the same time, cannot wait to see our quilts finished. You have made some great fabric choices in yours.

  6. INEKE,
I really love your blocks! The bright colors and added touches (the bride's skirt, the beads on the strawberrys, the fussy cut fabrics for the leaves, fruit and flowers) all make your quilt blocks pop. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. Congrats on making this wonderful quilt your own.

I am not a "bright fabric" person in general but by watching your progress and following the glorious applique blogspot, I am thinking I may need to change!

  8. Hey Bruidje (little bride in Dutch,
Your bright colorful blocks are exactly what we need right now in dreary Holland. Isn't it fabulous to see who different ones blocks look simply by chosing other fabric. Love your bright colors, they put a smile on my face.

  11. Love the new 'bright' fresh look of the CWB. I have been doing the Roseville Kim McLean quilt in Kaffe Fasset fabrics and have really grown to love these fabrics. I'm also doing the CWB (in reproductions) but stopped to work on the Roseville but will pick it up again when I'm finished with it.
