halfway finished the blocks!

I finished block #6 last night. I started on the Bird of Paradise block but got up to making the tail for the bird and chickened out. I made this block instead - fun and easy. Now back to that tail... :0) Happy Quilting!!

  1. Janet,
That is a lovely block. I really like the scrappy leaves. Great job! And don't let those tail feathers get to ya ... I delayed on that block also but found that piecing the feathers worked out easier than I thought it would. Good luck with it!

  2. Beautiful block, I do like your choice of fabrics for the leaves. It is a happy block. I found that the tail on Bird of Paradise was not difficult, paper pieced into one piece and applique on.

  3. Your block looks great. I just finished the same block and have the Bird of Paradise ready to start stitching. I too am half way done, now I just need to figure out how to post the photos.

  4. I thought this block was harder than the BOP with all the little leaves and bias stems. The block is very pretty I like the scrappy leaves also, and that each flower is a different color.
Can't wait to see you BOP.
    Happy Stitching,

  5. Oooooo! So pretty! This was one of my favorite blocks Love the different colored blooms and your leaf fabrics are very exciting.

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  6. Beautiful block! I love the colours you have used!

  7. Your block 6 turned out so nice. I like the variety of colors you used for your flowers and the interest in your leaves. Did it seem like you'd never get finished with all those leaves? I remember feeling that way anyway when I was working on this block.
