Two more blocks

Here are a few more blocks. I am not a big fan of the color purple but somehow feel that this quilt needs a bit. I wish I had turned this bird around like some others did but instead just flipped the whole block.I really love realistic shaded applique and in doing the grapes and the peaches (I now live in Georgia so changed the apples into what are supposed to look like peaches) I just couldn't resist. So here is the top row in the order I plan on using. I think I borrowed some setting changes from Susie's quilt as well as others. I hope there are others still out there working on this quilt and willing to post. I don't want to take over the blog!

  1. Your blocks look wonderful together! The shading on your peaches looks great. I'm still working away on my blocks - progress is slow - but I'll be sure to post when I finish another :0)

  2. dear heather ,your blocks are very beautiful, with so much colour in them, happy stitching, susi

  3. Your blocks are lovely and look so good together, I like the peaches. Well done.

  4. I don't think there's much chance of you taking over the blog Heather, it always tends to go quiet during the Northern summer months. I know there are lots of ladies still quietly stitching (including me) so we're all happy to see the lovely blocks you've already done..

  5. Hi Heather,

what yummy peaches. They look so beautiful - as do all your blocks. Well done!

    Greetings from the Rhine,

  6. Beautiful job. I am still working up the courage to begin. We are starting a class in September....just in time for our longish winter. I appreciate the inspiration and look forward to your next posting.

  7. Nice blocks...really like the addition of the Georgia peaches (I'm from Alabama which influenced me to introduce watermelon to my bride quilt!). Don't worry about just means you are on fire while others are working away. When Susi and I were close to finishing, it was the same way, but it was really exciting...for us and everyone else!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  8. Your blocks look great together. You are really humming along.

I'm still out here working on mine, as are many others, so don't worry that you're alone. My progress has slowed down again on my CWB because I'm taking 2 classes with lots of applique to do in them every month too. I'm getting close to finishing another block though. I'll post a picture when it's done.

Thanks to everyone that is following our journey with the Civil War Bride Quilt. We love to read your comments and appreciate your encouragement...............
