I'm back....it's been awhile since I've posted because we've moved from California to Oregon, so with a big move, it's taken me awhile to get back on track with this quilt. Am now discovering awesome quilt shops here and in Washington since I'm in close proximity. I rearranged elements differently than the original bride block. The only tricky parts were the "layering" of her hands holding the vines.
Very nice block, Mona. I love the colors and the rearranged, clever setting. Excellent. Take a bow!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, lovely bride, love the little striped leaves also.
ReplyDeleteYour bride is lovely - love her skirt! I like how you've rearranged the elements of the block.
ReplyDeleteNice rearrangement! Welcome back...I remember (and have missed!) your lovely pieced backgrounds. Your bride is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)
Yes, the pieced backgrounds are a great idea, and I love your apples, wish I had thought to rearrange this block, it looks much better your way, well done.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bride block!! You've almost inspired me to get back to work on my own blocks. I would love to hear about the quilt shops in Washington and Oregon. I may be in the region for work this fall and know nothing about the local quilt shops.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she just lovely. What a fabulous job. Love the pieced background block. The fabrics are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Bobbie
Mona ~ Your bride is beautiful. I gasped when I saw it.

ReplyDeleteGreat job an beautiful work ! I would love to make this quilt too. Dare I, however? I just finished doing a Sue Garman "Ladies of the Sea" quilt. I think I need a breather from applique for a while, but ooooh, this pattern is enticing. Dare I?
ReplyDeleteWOW !!!! What a lovely block and you used such nice colors wonderful
ReplyDeleteA beleza destes blocos não está apenas na confecção, mas também na escolha cuidadosa dos tecidos e das cores que compõe estes trabalhos.
ReplyDeleteSimplesmente maravilhosos.
