Just start!

Well!  I am taking the plunge!

Here is my first (and not my last!) block of The Civil War Bride Quilt.  I started stitching this block while on holidays in Nova Scotia.
My advice to anyone who thinks this project is beyond their skill level.....don't be afraid...just get started!  By the time you finish the last block, just think what an amazing appliquer you will be!!
Please check out my other blog.  It is simplebirdapplique.com.

Cheers,
Kerry

  4. Opps....the message got away before I was finished. I wanted to say how exquisite the colors are. I love the vase. Leaves, birds???? Isn't camoflauge (sp) wonderful? Tee hee. Lovely, lovely block. I have made envelopes for each block (8 x 12 size) and put a few fabrics in each that I love to keep them reappearing in my quilt...I don't want to forget where I put them....and this could be a LONG journey. Keep stitching and posting.

  5. I agree with you that one should set aside their fear of this project and just jump in, arms full of fabric and with a joyful heart. Good job on your first block. I look forward to seeing the other 19 as time goes by.
