Block 4 is finished!

It was a fairly busy weekend taking in a few local fall fairs but I was determined to finish block 4 of The Civil War Bride Quilt.
I am stitching the finished blocks together as I go.  It gives me a nice sense of accomplishment.  It also lets me see if my color choices are balanced.  The bias strip tendril were a little tricky!  I have a few helpful hints for the tendrils on my blog simplebirdapplique.

  1. I love your choice of fabric for the bird. I never thought of that knot as a tendril and did it as one piece with a hole in the center. NOT FUN! Your way is way smarter and better looking! Nice job, Kerry. Thanks for taking the time to post.

  2. They all look great... I went to your website and noticed how you auditioned the different hairstyles for the bride. What a great idea. She looks much lovelier in the "do" you gave her!
