top finally finished

Last night I appliqued the last piece onto my Civil War Bride Quilt.  I've been working on it since 2010.  It is exciting to finally finish the top.  I want to handquilt it so it will still be awhile before it is completely finished.
I used the Threadbear pattern for most of the blocks but designed my own borders.  What a wonderful project it has been to work on.

Happy Quilting!!

  3. Congratulations! It is gorgeous! So beautiful, such a great job. It is one of the patterns I would love to make once, but am dreading starting such a huge project, don't know if I will ever finish it. I admire your skills and your stamina.

  9. How beautiful! I love the extra blocks you made - the Church, the children, and the squirrel are all just wonderful. Your border is fabulous too. I've been thinking I need to get back to working on my quilt. I've even been dreaming about it lately. It must be time. I hope mine turns out as wonderful as yours did.
