Bird of Paradise with Label

Recently, I've been able to see the original quilt in the
American Folk Art Museum's traveling display.
On this block, there is a "Bird of Paradise" label in
script-lettering.  I grabbed my pencil and paper and drafted
the label. I've tried to replicate it as closely as possible
on my block, and have placed it in the lower corner also.

Seeing Double

I can't believe how quickly this block came together!
However, I'm saving all the eyes and facial details to
the very last step!

Berry Time

The Civil War Bride Quilt (Bird of Paradise) is presently in an exhibition tour--
part of the 'Self-Taught Genius' Exhibit by the American Folk Art Museum, now on tour.
Currently (through May 22, 2016), the exhibit is at the New Orleans
Museum of Art, then onto St. Louis, and Tampa.
I was able to see the quilt (and the paper templates) at the
New Orleans museum!  What a very special treat!--just like strawberries!
